Swedish roots.
A sweet tradition.
Some traditions stay with you, wherever life takes you.
For our founder, it was the joy of Swedish candy.
A sweet history.
In Sweden, candy has its own place in the week. Lördagsgodis – Saturday candy, has been a part of Swedish life since the 1950s. What began as a weekly ritual became a cultural staple, with generations making the trip to choose their favorite sweets.
At its heart is lösgodis: pick-and-mix candy. Fruity, sour, soft, salty. A collection built around individual taste, with room for the unexpected. We carry that tradition forward.
Sweden’s candy story stretches back generations. One of its most recognizable chapters began in 1859, in the lakeside town of Gränna, where Amalia Eriksson established her business making polkagris—the red-and-white peppermint sweets that became a Swedish icon.
Her legacy remains part of Gränna today, where candy makers continue the tradition of cooking, pulling, and shaping these distinctive sweets by hand.
Over the decades, Sweden developed a candy culture all its own. By the 1950s, lördagsgodis—Saturday candy—was becoming a weekly ritual. Choosing a mix of favorites became something to look forward to, a small occasion shared across generations.
Today, that spirit lives on in lösgodis: Sweden’s much-loved pick-and-mix candy. Colorful, varied, and entirely personal.
